We offer several client-centered options for on-site training. These courses have been modified with the safety and quality professional in mind, and represent over 10 yrs of experience training the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS), and the Human Factors Intervention Matrix (HFIX). Better yet, certified HFACS/HFIX instructors who have been personally trained by the original creators of HFACS and HFIX (Drs. Wiegmann and Shappell) teach all courses. HFACS, Inc. will provide a half-day awareness workshop on the Human Factor Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) and the Human Factors Intervention Matrix (HFIX). The goal of this workshop is to provide management and safety leadership with an appreciation and awareness of the HFACS/HFIX methodologies for safety purposes. Handouts of the material will be provided. Topics covered in the workshop include:
HFACS, Inc. will provide a one-day introductory workshop on the Human Factor Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) and the Human Factors Intervention Matrix (HFIX). Upon completion of this workshop, attendees with have a basic understanding of the foundations of the HFACS and HFIX systems and the fundamental knowledge of the key components of each tool. However, proficiency for applying HFACS and HFIX is not the goal of this course. Workbooks will be provided. Topics covered in the workshop include:
HFACS, Inc. will provide a two-day intensive workshop including “hands on” exercises using the Human Factor Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) and the Human Factors Intervention Matrix (HFIX). Upon completion of this workshop, attendees with have the fundamental skills needed to begin applying HFACS/HFIX to incidents that occur during the daily operations in the field. Workbooks will be provided and attendees will receive a certification of course completion.
HFACS, Inc. will provide a three-day intensive super-user workshop. This workshop incorporates the material taught in the two-day workshop including “hands on” exercises using the Human Factor Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) and the Human Factors Intervention Matrix (HFIX). In additional, other applications of HFACS and HFIX will be covered including proactive risk assessment, incident/near-miss reporting, gap analysis, and change management. Upon completion of this workshop, attendees with have the necessary skills and tools needed for accident investigation, error prevention, and database analysis for managing risks. Workbooks will be provided. Attendees will receive a certification of both the basic and Super User course completion.
This workshop is designed for those organizations that want the full three-day HFACS/HFIX Super User Workshop but can only afford to have a large number of people away from their normal duties for a maximum of two days. The course is a combination of online training of Day 1 material followed by two days of onsite training by HFACS, Inc. instructors. This process allows the foundational material to be learned online by participants at their leisure, which then allows HFACS, Inc. to spend time covering the detailed material from Days 2 and 3of the workshop. Similar to the onsite 3-Day Super User workshop, this curriculum incorporates “hands on” exercises using the Human Factor Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) and the Human Factors Intervention Matrix (HFIX). In additional, other applications of HFACS and HFIX will be covered including proactive risk assessment, incident/near-miss reporting, gap analysis, and change management.
